Scooter Libby pardon is just. He was convicted of a dubious crime that didn’t happen until long after the Special Prosecutor had found out who had committed the leak that was the reason for the investigation. A great example of why Special Prosecutors/counsels are a bad idea.

Apparently, this was an Oval Office initiative and handled by Trump’s counsel and not the Department of Justice. There’s nothing wrong with that, the use of the pardon belongs to the president as a black letter Article 2 power in the Constitution.
Update: There is no petition seeking a pardon for Scooter Libby on file with the Justice Department’s Pardon Attorney, a DOJ spokesperson tells me. This means that if it is being considered, it is not going through the normal process.
