According to his long-time manager, Ronald Lee Ermey has died of complications from pneumonia.
Statement from R. Lee Ermey's long time manager, Bill Rogin:
It is with deep sadness that I regret to inform you all that R. Lee Ermey ("The Gunny") passed away this morning from complications of pneumonia. He will be greatly missed by all of us.

Ermey was an 11-year veteran of the US Marine Corps and Vietnam veteran. His service included a stint as a drill instructor which he played in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket and which is probably the role most identified with him.
