FBI Agents May Have Seized Tapes of Trump’s Conversations With Attorney Michael Cohen During Raid

FBI agents may have seized recorded conversations Michael Cohen had with Trump during their predawn raid earlier this week.

Trump’s personal lawyer had the tendency to record his conversations with his clients, according to a report by WaPo.

Via WaPo:

President Trump’s personal attorney Michael D. Cohen sometimes taped conversations with associates, according to three people familiar with his practice, and allies of the president are worried that the recordings were seized by federal investigators in a raid of Cohen’s office and residences this week.

Cohen, who served for a decade as a lawyer at the Trump Organization and is a close confidant of Trump’s, was known to store the conversations using digital files and then replay them for colleagues, according to people who have interacted with him.

“We heard he had some proclivity to make tapes,” said one Trump adviser, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation. “Now we are wondering, who did he tape? Did he store those someplace where they were actually seized? . . . Did they find his recordings?”

Earlier this week, FBI KGB agents raided the office of one of Trump’s personal lawyers Michael Cohen at the request of Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein signed off on the FBI raid.

They were looking for dirt on Stormy Daniels and seized attorney-client privileged communications between Trump and Cohen.

It was revealed Wednesday that agents were also looking for records on the “Access Hollywood” tape.

Cohen is under criminal investigation for his business dealings…

After a months-long criminal investigation into Cohen’s business dealings, FBI agents conducted a raid.

Bloomberg reported:

There’s an ongoing grand jury probe being conducted by the FBI and federal prosecutors in Manhattan. It’s independent of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of Russian interference in the U.S. elections, the prosecutors said.

Investigators are seeking evidence of crimes “many of which have nothing to do with his work as an attorney, but rather relate to Cohen’s own business dealings,” prosecutors said. Investigators have reason to believe “that Cohen has exceedingly few clients and a low volume of potentially privileged communications,” they said.
The U.S. attorney’s office in Manhattan had obtained earlier search warrants on multiple different email accounts maintained by Cohen, and reviewed them for privileged material, the prosecutors said.

President Trump was furious after the raid on his personal lawyer.
