On Tuesday morning Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido called on the the military to rise up and oust the Socialist Maduro regime.
Guaido appeared with activist Leopoldo Lopez who was freed from house arrest by members of the military.
Thousands of supporters took to the streets following the announcement by interim President Guaido.
The Maduro regime was not ready to cede power to the people.

John Bolton addressed the crisis with reporters on Tuesday afternoon.
Bolton said all options are on the table.
