Saturday was a busy day for President Trump. He jumped up early (as he always does) at hit the links for a round of golf with the Japanese prime minister at his club outside Washington, D.C. He popped back to his house (it’s white) for a quick shower and new wardrobe, then boarded a helicopter at 5 p.m. to fly to Green Bay, Wisc., to deliver a speech. He didn’t get home until after midnight.
But on his flight home, the indefatigable septuagenarian logged on to Twitter to post a few thoughts that haven’t gotten much press.

And it sure did.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) rigged the 2016 nomination battle in favor of Hillary Clinton, at least according to Donna Brazile, the former interim DNC chair, who wrote a book titled “Hacks: The Inside Story of the Break-ins and Breakdowns that Put Donald Trump in the White House.”
“The Democrats were broke and in debt after bankrolling President Obama’s second-term campaign, and he did little to help them raise the money they needed,” Investors.com wrote in 2017. “Desperate, the Democratic National Committee made a deal with Clinton early in her campaign to jointly raise money together. Using Clinton’s fundraising clout, the DNC was soon out of debt. In exchange, Clinton took control of the DNC, including hiring and firing, and used it as a political weapon against her foes.”
The deal let Clinton raise money outside the limits of the campaign finance law, by in effect laundering campaign donations through the DNC. It may have been illegal.
Bernie didn’t stand a chance. Nor did then-Vice President Joe Biden, who, after showing all the signs of running for president, suddenly bowed out in October of 2015 — months after Hillary took over the DNC.
Emailed posted by Wikileaks suggested much the same thing. The Washington Post reported: “Many of the most damaging emails suggest the committee was actively trying to undermine Bernie Sanders’s presidential campaign. Basically, all of these examples came late in the primary — after Hillary Clinton was clearly headed for victory — but they belie the national party committee’s stated neutrality in the race even at that late stage.”
But remember, Clinton didn’t lock down the nomination until June, late in the process. And in the end, her cash advantage proved huge in Sanders’ defeat.
Before the official nominating convention in 2016, then-DNC Chariman Debbie Wasserman Schultz — who was revealed in a leaked email to have said of Sanders “He isn’t going to be president” — resigned. Then the DNC admitted many of the allegations by apologizing to the Vermont socialist senator, saying, “On behalf of everyone at the DNC, we want to offer a deep and sincere apology to Senator Sanders, his supporters, and the entire Democratic Party for the inexcusable remarks made over email.”
So flying back to Washington, still hyped from his big speech on Saturday night, Trump needled Bernie with one more tweet.
“Here we go again Bernie, but this time please show a little more anger and indignation when you get screwed!” he wrote.
