Chelsea Clinton Making Millions By Hardly Working, New Report Says

Chelsea Clinton once made $600,000 a year to produce a few “feel-good pieces” for NBC News — where she was a “special correspondent.” Somehow, the 39-year-old has amassed a huge fortune and now lives in a $10 million “luxury fortress” in Manhattan.

So the Daily Mail decided to take a look at the former first daughter’s income, and what they found was fascinating.

Chelsea Clinton, 39, took home just over $600,000 last year for her work as director on the boards of IAC and Expedia, according to records obtained by DailyMail.com.

The IAC board met just six times in 2018, while some members of the Expedia board were only obligated to attend two meetings last year.

Those two companies are both headed up by the family’s good friend Barry Diller, the billionaire businessman and longtime partner of designer Diane von Furstenberg, who is often spotted attending Broadway shows with Chelsea and her parents.

IAC is an American holding company that owns more 150 brands across 100 countries, mostly in media and internet and is headquartered in New York City. Expedia is an international travel website.

“These latest compensation packages also reveal that Chelsea will soon own just over $400,000 of Expedia stock and shares in IAC that add up to an astonishing $6.3 million, based on those companies trading prices when the market opened Friday,” the Mail writes.

Serving on boards is the way to quick cash. There’s very little work involved — often, the company just wants a big name on its roster (think former vice president Al Gore and all the boards he sits on). It’s hard to imagine what Expedia or IAC think Clinton’s expertise is, but hey, they can pay whomever they want, this is America.

Still, it’s hilarious that Chelsea is the daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton, who both spent their political careers railing against the “1 Percent,” the wealthiest in America. What’s more, they claimed to want to force big companies to pay their fair share, but in the end they did little follow through on their pledges. Now, their daughter is a member of the former by working in the latter. The irony is delicious.

Chelsea also serves as vice chair of the Clinton Foundation, a massive non-profit set up by her parents that has been the subject of several federal probes. There, according to her Expedia biography, “her work emphasizes improving global and domestic health, creating service opportunities and empowering the next generation of leaders,” whatever that means.

And Chelsea lives like a modern-day queen, the Mail reported in 2013.

Chelsea Clinton’s new $10 million pad is New York’s longest apartment – stretching an entire block from 26th Street to 27th Street off Madison Avenue.

Described as ‘a luxury fortress‘ with one full-time doorman to the horizontal building’s four units, it takes almost 30 seconds to walk the 250-foot hallway, according to New York Daily News.

The former First Daughter, 33, bought the four-bedroom, 5,000-square-foot apartment with her husband Marc Mezvinsky, 35, after putting their nearby $4million pad on the market earlier this year.

Chelsea’s net worth is estimated at $15 million.

Nice work if you can get it.
