Joe Biden joined a virtual CEO summit on semiconductor and supply chain resilience on Monday.
Biden met with more than a dozen CEOs and reassured them Congress backed his $50 billion proposal for semiconductor and manufacturing research.
“Taking care of elderly parents and kids with disabilities so people can go to work is investing in infrastructure,” said Biden.
“Chips like the one I have here, these chips, these [semiconductor] wafers, are batteries, broadband — it’s all infrastructure,” he added.
Biden’s handlers aggressively shouted down reporters trying to ask questions after the summit.
