President Trump announced Tuesday that federal authorities have now made six arrests in connection with the vandalism and damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, revealing new details about a deliberate act of destruction targeting one of the nation’s most iconic landmarks ahead of America’s 250th anniversary celebration.
According to President Trump, investigators determined that a massive 350-foot gash discovered in the Reflecting Pool was not an accident or construction defect but rather the result of intentional vandalism carried out with a sharp blade.
This is what Trump Derangement Syndrome does to people. It turns ordinary leftists into vandals willing to labor through the night with knives and razors to destroy something beautiful simply because President Trump made it better. They couldn’t stand the success. They couldn’t stand the beauty. So they tried to ruin it.
Trump wrote on Truth Social:
“Six people have been arrested, and seven people have been cited, for the damage they did to our Country’s now beautiful Reflecting Pool.
The 350 foot gash, made by a very sharp knife or razors, is actually numerous slashes over a very long 350 foot length. It was purposefully and criminally done, and somebody had to work very hard, probably in the dark of night, to create such a condition.
Likewise, the small area at the bottom of the Pool was cut and powerfully lifted off the surface leaving very jagged, uneven edges. The large areas of grass are being replaced.
In any event, even prior to fixing those areas, the Reflecting Pool is as beautiful as it can be. We will drain some of the water, either immediately before or after the Fourth of July, to do the permanent repair.”

Earlier incidents included cutting out huge pieces of the new “American flag blue” sealant lining, scrawling anti-Trump messages like “86 47,” and jumping into the pool to rip up the surface.
This is targeted sabotage against a symbol of American renewal under President Trump.
