The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant took over large swaths of Iraq and Syria in 2013 and 2014.
The group claimed the territory as their new Islamic “caliphate.”
This was made possible after Barack Obama withdrew US troops prematurely from Iraq and allowed radical Islamists to fill the void.
Donald Trump promised to “bomb the hell out of ISIS” as president and that is exactly what he has done.
ISIS is defeated. Their caliphate destroyed.
